Product Description
This is a very rare occasional small table from the Victorian Era, likely circa 1860s–1880s, The table is handcrafted with influences from the Aesthetic Movement and Renaissance Revival, both of which celebrated detailed craftsmanship. The table top is octagonal which is unusual for the period and the surface features a stylish intricate geometric parquetry inlay, using contrasting veneers (satinwood, walnut, rosewood). The visual depth of the top showcases the artisan’s high level of skill and an appreciation for optical artistry which was popular in the Victorian period. The top features the remains of a BADA stamp attesting to its antique status. The pedestal base of the table features a single turned column with tripod deeply scrolled legs, carved with foliage motifs, adding elegance and balance.
In modern interiors this table can serve as a side table, lamp stand, or conversation piece in a period-inspired or eclectic interior.
Height: 59 cm ; Diameter 47 cm
