Product Description
These chairs have delicate, symmetrical mahogany wooden frames with light carvings on the top rails, featuring a shell motif and circular detailing in the centre of the backrests. The slender, turned legs indicate a late Georgian (1714-1830) or Regency period (1811- 1820) style. The chairs feature a rich patina in line with their 1800 – 1830 origin. The chairs are upholstered in a light tapestry style fabric with floral embroidery that features birds, vines, and flowers, a style reminiscent of Regency and French country designs. They were likely used as parlour or dining chairs or as occasional chairs in a sitting room. Chairs of this style were often seen in elegant English and French homes, complementing formal settings.
