Product Description
Elegant pier cabinet from the 1860’s featuring ebonized wood accented with amboyna veneers. This pier cabinet displays a Napoleon III influence which was sought after in quality furniture of the 1860’s in England. It features a mirrored upper section and a single glazed door. This cabinet features a brass trim that runs throughout the edges of the cabinet and two Wedgewood Jasperware medallions. The inside is covered in a dark blue velvet with two shelves. Pier cabinets have a small footprint and were used to display fine porcelain or books in Victorian homes. It is a striking addition to modern interiors.
Overall condition: Good with some age-related wear. The mirror has age-related wear consistent with the age of the piece. The velvet lining can be replaced on request.
